Resource Productivity and Recovery Authority Appoints CEO

The Resource Productivity and Recovery Authority (the Authority) is pleased to announce the appointment of Frank Denton, former Assistant Deputy Minister of the Policy, Planning and Oversight Division of the Ontario Ministry of Government and Consumer Services, as Chief Executive Officer.

“Frank brings a wealth of experience and knowledge gained over a distinguished career with the Government of Ontario and in private legal practice. His strategic leadership in delivering high profile, complex regulatory initiatives, including designing and implementing new regulatory authorities and other arms-length organizations, will serve the Authority well during this critical start-up phase and over the long term,” said Glenda Gies, Chair of the Authority’s Board of Directors.

Mr. Denton’s extensive experience with the Government of Ontario includes design and delivery of a range of regulatory programs including oversight of nine arms-length regulatory bodies responsible for a broad range of sectors, including electrical safety, real estate professionals, new home warranties, motor vehicle dealers, and travel retailers and wholesalers. Mr. Denton is also a former board member of the Electrical Safety Authority.

In addition to regulatory, policy and operational experience with the Ontario government, Mr. Denton also practiced commercial law with the firm of Osler, Hoskin and Harcourt and served as Legal Director with the Ontario Ministry of the Attorney General, focusing on economic development and research funding programs.

“Frank’s regulatory, legal and policy experiences, combined with his strategic leadership abilities and intimate knowledge of government processes and the administrative authority model, will contribute to the success of the Authority in advancing a circular economy and realizing the vision of a wastefree Ontario,” said Ms. Gies.
