Carlsberg Group explores fully fibre-based beer bottle
Carlsberg Group has been researching and developing the feasibility of bio-based bottles since 2015 and in June 2022, was finally able to confirm plans to trial 8,000 of its new fibre bottles across Europe. Each bottle consists of a plant-based polymer lining made from natural raw materials that are compatible with plastic recycling systems. The outer bottle consists of sustainably sourced wood fibre, and also contains beer brewed with organic and regenerative barley. Read more.
