Copenhagen replaces natural gas with biomethane from food waste

Starting in October, Copenhagen will use food waste collected from households and businesses to produce biogas. The food waste is taken to a facility where it is converted from biogas to biomethane. By injecting biomethane directly into the gas grid, it can be used for electricity, heat generation, and to replace natural gas. Read more.
