Metal recycling facility advances sustainability goals using renewable energy

EMR is advancing its sustainability efforts with new technology, including a Sennebogen 895e electric crane at its Becker, Minnesota, facility, reducing diesel consumption by over 250 gallons monthly. The facility also runs entirely on renewable energy, has zero emissions, and utilizes an enclosed shredder to prevent pollution. EMR has invested $2.5 million in a new rail line for sustainable metal transportation. These initiatives are part of EMR’s strategy to reach net-zero emissions by 2040, aligning with their environmental and community protection goals. Learn more.
