Newmarket’s annual Blue Box campaign is back
The town of Newmarket’s annual educational campaign is running from August 16 – September 9, 2022, to remind residents to put waste in the right place and adequately recycle items in the blue box. Town staff will be performing random visual inspections of materials placed at the curb for recycling to ensure only accepted items are placed in the blue box. If your blue box has been looked through, residents can expect to see one of two different sets of door hangers left behind at the door. One will identify that there are items in the blue box that do not belong, while the other will identify that residents are complying with recycling regulations. Please note that this is an educational program and that staff members will not undertake enforcement actions if the blue box is found to contain improper items. Learn more.
