Saskatoon classroom gets creative to reduce electronic waste

With the guidance of their teacher and the Saskatchewan Environmental Society, middle-school students from Montgomery School in Saskatoon are carefully dismantling laptops, race cars, cellphones, and printers to recover electronic waste. The students look at the social impact of electricity and waste management and how to utilize the precious resources from old and outdated electronics. The class has had success and fun creating keychains from circuit boards, with most of the metal e-waste going to a local recycler.
