Bruce Campbell appointed Ontario Tire Stewardship Administrator

The Resource Productivity and Recovery Authority is pleased to announce the appointment of Bruce Campbell as Administrator of Ontario Tire Stewardship (OTS), which is responsible for operating Ontario’s tire recycling program, effective November 23, 2018.

Mr. Campbell’s appointment was made following the resignation of E. Patrick Shea for personal reasons. Mr. Shea will be refocusing on his legal practice with Gowling (WLG) Canada. The Authority thanks Mr. Shea for his contributions since his appointment on October 5, 2017. Mr. Shea acted as Administrator during the critical process of developing the OTS Wind-Up Plan and provided crucial support for OTS as tire recycling in Ontario prepares for transition to a new regulatory framework.

As Administrator, Mr. Campbell will supervise OTS and work closely with OTS staff to ensure effective governance of the ongoing operations and orderly wind up of the program on December 31, 2018 and of OTS thereafter, consistent with legislated requirements and directions provided by the Minister of the Environment, Conservation and Parks.

Mr. Campbell has over 35 years of regulatory and executive experience, including as a Partner with the law firm Genest Murray DesBrisay Lamek and as former Chief Executive Officer of the Independent Electricity System Operator.
