Save the Date – RPRA to host workshops on the electronics and batteries regulations

IMPORTANT UPDATE: RPRA’s workshop on the electronics and batteries regulations is cancelled and will be rescheduled at a later date. Learn more.

On November 15, 2019, the Authority is hosting a series of free workshops on the electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) and battery regulations under the Resource Recovery and Circular Economy Act, 2016, which are anticipated to be finalized later this fall.

The all-day workshops will be focused on helping businesses understand the new regulatory requirements for collecting and managing EEE and batteries at end-of-life and ensuring those materials are recycled, reused or refurbished.

In addition to practical workshops about the new regulatory requirements and how the new market will operate, the day will also provide important context about Ontario’s circular economy strategy to reduce waste and litter, increase competition in the waste management sector and spur economic innovation across the province.

If your business operates in Ontario’s EEE or battery markets; you provide waste management, resource recovery, audit and accounting, legal or consulting services to these sectors; or you’re interested in learning more about Ontario’s new recycling/resource recovery strategy, this event will provide essential information and networking opportunities.
