Government to host webinar on the development of new Blue Box regulation
The government of Ontario is moving forward with transitioning the Blue Box program to full producer responsibility and will be hosting a webinar to explain how to participate in the development of the regulation that will define how the new Blue Box system will work.

The first step in transitioning the Blue Box program to full producer responsibility occurred on August 15, 2019, when the Minister of the Environment, Conservation and Parks directed Stewardship Ontario to develop a plan with regards to the funding program for blue box materials collected under the Waste Diversion Transition Act, 2016. The Blue Box Program will transition to producer responsibility in phases over a three-year period, starting in 2023. Learn more about the Blue Box transition.
