Stewardship Ontario Granted Extension to Consult on MHSW Surplus Funds Amendment
The Minister of the Environment, Conservation and Parks has extended the deadline for Stewardship Ontario (SO) to submit their required MHSW Wind-Up Plan amendments to the Authority from April 30, 2020 to June 5, 2020.
The extension will ensure SO can undertake meaningful consultation with stakeholders on required amendments to the MHSW wind-up plan, as detailed in the Minister’s April 1, 2020 direction letter.
SO will be holding two consultation webinars on Tuesday, May 12, 2020 and Wednesday, May 13, 2020 to review their proposal for disbursing existing surplus funds to industry stewardship organizations. Visit Stewardship Ontario’s website to register.
The Authority will review and approve the amended plan submitted by SO by June 25, 2020. Read the latest direction letter.
