Government consulting on proposed amendments to Transitional Operating Agreement with the Authority

The Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks is seeking feedback on a proposal to amend the Transitional Operating Agreement between the Minister of the Environment, Conservation and Parks, and the Resource Productivity and Recovery Authority.

The Operating Agreement is a key government oversight measure under the Resource Recovery and Circular Economy Act, 2016 that outlines the role, governance and operations of the Authority.

The proposed amendments aim to ensure a transparent and effective oversight regime for producer responsibility in Ontario, as well as address necessary administrative changes.

The proposed changes have been posted to the Environmental Registry of Ontario (https://ero.ontario.ca/notice/019-2886) for a 45-day comment period, from February 12 to March 29, 2021.
