Authority establishes Service Provider Advisory Council
The Authority has established a Service Provider Advisory Council, as directed by the Minister of the Environment, Conservation and Parks in October 2021, which involved consulting with industry and the ministry to finalize the Council’s Terms of Reference and appoint 11 Council members.
The Council will provide advice to the Authority during its business planning process, on matters the Authority is consulting on, such as fee setting, and on other topics determined by the Council or directed by the Minister.
Between November 3 and November 15, 2021, the Authority consulted with industry and the ministry on the Council’s proposed Terms of Reference and solicited interest from the service provider community in participating on the Council. Visit the consultation page to learn more about the consultation process and read the consultation report that summarizes the feedback received.
Following consultation, the Authority finalized the Council’s Terms of Reference and appointed 11 Council members from the waste management sector representing a cross-section of the service provider community, including municipal representation.
The list of appointed Council members and the Council’s Terms of Reference are posted on the Authority’s Advisory Council webpage.
