RPRA sets thresholds for large and small battery and ITT/AV producers for supply data verification
RPRA has updated its Batteries and Information technology, telecommunication, and audio-visual (ITT/AV) equipment Supply Data Verification Procedure to include cut-off thresholds that determine if a producer is small or large.
Beginning in 2023, only large producers of batteries and ITT/AV will need to submit a Supply Data Verification Report to RPRA. Small producers will no longer be required to submit a verification report but will be subject to inspections.
Review the Batteries and ITT/AV Supply Data Verification Procedure to determine if you are a small or large producer.
From December 16, 2022, to January 16, 2023, RPRA consulted on the cut-off thresholds that determine if a battery or ITT/AV producer is small or large. Based on feedback received and information gathered through the consultation period, RPRA made the following decisions:
- RPRA will use minimum management requirements to define small and large battery and ITT/AV producer cut-off thresholds.
- The cut-off thresholds do not apply to producers who did not submit their Supply Report and/or sufficient Verification Report to RPRA in 2022. These producers are out of compliance. RPRA’s Compliance and Enforcement Team is taking compliance action against producers who haven’t submitted their supply and/or verification reports for 2022. RPRA will contact these producers directly before the Registry opens for 2023 supply reporting.
Stakeholder feedback and RPRA’s responses are summarized in the consultation report. Read the consultation report here.
2023 supply reporting will open in the coming weeks, and RPRA will notify producers via email at that time. Visit RPRA’s Batteries and ITT/AV producer webpages for more information about reporting requirements or read our FAQs to learn more about battery and ITT/AV producer cut-off thresholds.
