Ontario government finalizes amendments to the Excess Soil Regulation
The Government of Ontario has updated the Excess Soil Regulation and Rules for Soil Management to make it easier for industry to reuse leftover soil from housing, infrastructure, and other construction projects.
Effective April 23, 2024, residential development soil depot storage sites can store larger volumes of excess soil, increasing from 10,000 cubic meters (m³) to 25,000 m³.
