RPRA Inspector designated Provincial Offences Officer

RPRA Inspector Addison Veres has been designated a Provincial Offences Officer by the Hon. Andrea Khanjin, Minister of the Environment, Conservation and Parks, effective April 23, 2024.

The appointment, made under subsection 1(3) of the Provincial Offences Act, 1990, gives Mr. Veres, RPRA’s Manager of Compliance and Operations, the authority to initiate prosecutions of alleged offences.

This first Provincial Offences Officer designation will strengthen RPRA’s compliance function by expanding the tools available to RPRA’s Compliance Officers to enforce Ontario’s circular economy laws, including compelling free riders to comply with the regulatory obligations.
