Minister formally terminates WEEE program

On November 17, 2025, the Minister of the Environment, Conservation and Parks issued a letter formally terminating the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) program, pursuant to section 14 of the Waste Diversion Transition Act, 2016.

Following the receipt of the Minister’s termination letter, the liquidation of the industry funding organization that operated the program, Ontario Electronic Stewardship (OES), will be finalized by the OES court-appointed liquidator, Deloitte Restructuring Inc.
