Updated Hazardous and Special Products Verification and Audit Procedure now posted
RPRA has updated the Supply Data Verification section of its Hazardous and Special Products (HSP) Verification and Audit Procedure to align with recent regulatory amendments.
Key changes to the procedure include:
- reflecting the revised categorization of refillable pressurized containers to Category E (from Category B)
- updating the producer hierarchy for antifreeze and oil filters supplied in new vehicles
- minor administrative edits to more closely align with registry procedures for the batteries, ITT/AV and tires programs
Review the revised Hazardous and Special Products Verification and Audit Procedure.
Next steps for producers
HSP producers must submit and verify supply data in accordance with the updated procedure.
- The deadline for supply and performance reporting is July 31, 2026.
- Large producers of categories A (oil filters and non-refillable pressurized containers) and B (oil containers, antifreeze, solvents, paints and coatings and pesticides) must also submit a supply data verification report by July 31, 2026.
Producers will be notified by RPRA once the registry is open for HSP reporting.
