Update on reporting requirements for Blue Box processors
RPRA is extending the performance reporting requirement for secondary processors to 2027. This is a follow-up to RPRA’s earlier guidance on processor reporting.
This extension will help ensure that changes resulting from the recent amendments to the Blue Box Regulation are reflected in RPRA’s Blue Box performance audit and verification procedure that is currently under development. The finalized procedure will provide calculation points for data entry on performance and recovered resources. The procedure will be open for public consultation. From there, RPRA will provide clear and complete guidance on reporting for primary and secondary processors.
Next steps for secondary and downstream processors
Secondary and downstream processors will submit their first performance reports in 2027. They are still expected to register with RPRA.
Next steps for primary processors
Primary processors must submit an annual performance report in 2026 to provide information on their recovery and management activities in 2025. More information can be found on our Blue Box processors webpage. Primary processors will be notified when the registry is open for reporting.
Primary processors who are not registered with RPRA must register as soon as possible.
If you have any questions about your requirements as a Blue Box processor, please contact RPRA’s Compliance and Registry Team at [email protected] or (833) 600-0530.
