Phase Two of the Batteries and ITT/AV Supply Data Verification Procedure consultation will be held from Monday, January 10 – Friday, February 18, 2022. RPRA is consulting on the draft procedure so those directly affected by it, such as producers, PROs, and their verifiers, have an opportunity to provide feedback.
RPRA hosted a webinar on Tuesday, January 18 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am to review the draft Batteries and ITT/AV Supply Data Verification Procedure. View the webinar recording and presentation slides.
Stakeholders are encouraged to submit their feedback on the draft procedure to email@example.com by February 18. All feedback will be taken into consideration when finalizing the procedure.
Producers will reference the procedure when submitting their first Supply Data Verification Report to RPRA in 2022. Under the Batteries and EEE Regulations, the 2022 supply reporting deadline is April 30. As the Regulator responsible for enforcing these Regulations, RPRA is giving producers until June 30 to submit their 2022 Supply Data Report.
RPRA held Phase One of the consultation from Thursday, September 9 – Saturday October 9, 2021. We hosted a webinar on Thursday, September 9 from 10:00 am to 11:30 am to discuss the principles and methodologies that will be used to update the Supply Data Verification section in the Batteries Verification and Audit Procedure and the EEE Verification and Audit Procedure. View the webinar recording and the presentation slides.
We received valuable feedback from stakeholders during Phase One of the consultation and took it into consideration while drafting the new procedure. RPRA required more time to draft the procedure and adjusted the timeline for Phase Two of the consultation, see below.
Under the Batteries and Electrical and Electronic Equipment (EEE) Regulations, producers of Batteries and Information Technology, Telecommunication and Audio Visual (ITT/AV) are required to report new supply information each year in order to establish their management requirement for the following year. Supply data for batteries and ITT/AV can only be reported to RPRA by a producer in accordance with the Batteries Verification and Audit Procedure and the EEE Verification and Audit Procedure.
Starting in 2022, battery and ITT/AV producers will need to submit a verification report to verify the supply data being reported to RPRA. Producers will need to work with a qualified person to complete a verification report to verify the supply data being submitted.
The lighting supply procedure is not part of this consultation as lighting producers are not required to register until November 30, 2022. The lighting procedure will be consulted on separately.
