Hazardous Waste Program Registry Data

2023 HWP Registry data summaries were published on March 31, 2025. Review the data here.

Under Ontario’s Hazardous Waste Program (HWP), generators, carriers and receivers of hazardous and liquid industrial waste are required to report how they properly stored, transported, recycled, recovered and disposed of the waste to protect public health and the environment.

Generators, carriers and receivers report on their waste management activities through the RPRA HazTrack Mobile App and Registry. The Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks is responsible for conducting compliance and enforcement activities for the program.

RPRA publishes reported data annually. Published reports do not contain commercially sensitive information or personal information.

What data is posted

RPRA publishes the following three HWP datasets:

  • Carrier data
    • Carriers are operators of waste transportation systems. The carrier dataset includes:
      • carrier contact and site information
      • quantities, types and characteristics of waste transported
  • Generator data
    • Generators are operators of waste generation facilities (facilities that create waste or transfer it from one site to another). The generator dataset includes:
      • generator contact and site information
      • quantities of waste generated, including from spills
      • types, characterizations, and physical states of wastes generated
  • Receiver data
    • Receivers are operators of facilities that accept waste, such as a transfer station, processor, or disposal site. The receiver dataset includes:
      • receiver contact and site information
      • quantities and types of waste received
