Arkansas Union advances sustainability initiative by focusing on waste diversion
The Arkansas Union at the University of Arkansas has launched the second phase of its sustainability efforts, focusing on recycling and waste diversion to support its goal of 90% waste diversion and carbon neutrality by 2040. This phase introduces low-waste event consultations, expanded waste diversion services, and the creation of an urban greenspace in collaboration with the Office for Sustainability. Additional initiatives include the Union Sustainability Ambassadors Program and green career lectures to promote environmental responsibility across the campus community. These efforts aim to enhance waste reduction practices and engage students, faculty, and staff in creating a more sustainable campus. Learn more about this initiative.
