Artist upcycles sweaters from people who’ve passed into memorial pillowcases
Montreal artist and designer Jane Adams has created a unique and comforting offering by designing and making pillows from cashmere sweaters once worn by loved ones who have passed away. Adams, a seasoned sewist with a background in textiles and design, was inspired by her experience as a volunteer at Chez Doris, a Montreal organization aiding vulnerable women. The cashmere pillows, made from donated sweaters, serve as both a sustainable and sentimental creation. Adams also designs a line of down-filled pillows featuring silks, cashmere, and fine wools, offering a unique and personalized way to remember loved ones.
