The Bulgarian Circular Textile Association has expanded its network of collection containers across 49 municipalities in Bulgaria, collecting approximately 2,900 tonnes of textile waste annually through voluntary efforts without financial support. The association has processed over 100,000 tonnes of textile waste in three years, with 70% prepared for reuse, resulting in significant environmental savings, including a reduction of carbon emissions equivalent to the emissions of 2 million cars. The recent opening of Bulgaria’s first textile recycling installation in Varna marks a milestone in closing the loop of textile utilization.
