Coco-Cola trials label-less Sprite bottles to simplify the recycling process and reduce packaging material
Coca-Cola is conducting a trial in the UK for label-less packaging of its Sprite brand to simplify the recycling process and reduce packaging material use. The trial involves removing labels from 500ml recycled polyethylene terephthalate bottles of Sprite and Sprite Zero, replacing them with embossed logos on the front and laser-engraved product information on the back. The initiative, running from this month through March 2024, is being tested in eight Tesco Express stores. The label-less approach streamlines recycling by eliminating label separation, potentially optimizing the recycling workflow. Read more about Coca-Cola’s label-less packaging pilot.
