Danish company opens country’s first robotic facility to sort construction waste
Solum, a Danish recycling company, has launched Denmark’s first robotic facility for sorting construction waste in Roskilde. This plant is a significant step in the country’s green transition, as construction waste accounts for nearly 40% of Denmark’s total waste. The robotic system, developed by ZenRobotics, uses advanced sensor technology to sort waste more precisely and efficiently than traditional manual methods. It can achieve up to 90% purity in sorting materials like wood, plastic, metal, and concrete, compared to the 10% recycling efficiency of manual sorting. The robot’s learning capabilities allow it to adapt to future industry needs, ensuring it remains effective as the sector evolves. Learn more.
