EU looks to innovative practices to tackle construction and demolition waste

At a recent meeting attended by members of the European Commission and representatives of EU-funded sustainability projects, participants discussed ways to reduce construction and demolition waste which makes up nearly half of the waste generated across the European Union. Some of the solutions that have been developed include the creation of an online platform connecting buyers and sellers of recycled construction materials, and different methods of incorporating crushed building materials into new resources like concrete and tile.
