Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl) has launched a pioneering Zero Waste Uniform Upcycling Project, turning old staff uniforms into 5,000 recyclable plastic cups by recycling polyester fibers into plastic granules. This project is the first of its kind in Hong Kong’s aviation industry, tackling the challenge of recycling durable, waterproof uniform fabrics that often end up in landfills. Since 2018, Hactl’s “Green Terminal” program has aimed for a 75% waste recycling rate by 2030. Read more about the Zero Waste Uniform Upcycling Project.
