Precision robot recovers reusable components from discarded electronics

Founders of a startup called Molg have designed robots that function as “microfactories” to meticulously take apart e-waste. The robots are equipped to identify and extract parts without causing damage so that the components can be reused in new electronics. The technology aims to reduce the amount of electronic waste that ends up in landfills by recovering usable parts and giving them a second life within new devices. The robot’s small size as well as its ability to work quickly and accurately shows promise for its scalability. Read more about the new e-waste recovery technology.
