Most stewards in the current Ontario Tire Stewardship program will be legally required to register with the Resource Productivity and Recovery Authority by August 31, 2018. Click here for more information about upcoming changes to tire recycling in Ontario.
The Registry opens for tire producers on July 3. Registration is as easy as 1, 2, 3!
Step 1: Confirm that you are a producer
You may be a producer if you manufacture, import or sell tires or vehicles with tires in Ontario. This includes most stewards in the current Ontario Tire Stewardship program. Read our Frequently Asked Questions to verify that you are a producer under the new Tire Regulation. Producers are required to register with the Authority by August 31, 2018.
Step 2: Create your Registry account
Beginning on July 3, visit rpra.ca/registry to create a Registry account with the Authority. You will need to provide:
- CRA Business Number
- Legal Business Name
- Ontario Tire Stewardship Number (if applicable)
- Business address and contact information
Step 3: Provide information and pay the Registry fee
After creating your account, you will need to provide the following information and pay the required fee to complete your registration:
- Tire supply data (the number and calculated weight of the tires, by category, you supplied in 2014, 2015 and 2016)
- An audit report (if not using supply data previously submitted to OTS)
- A Declaration of Producer Brands
- An Executive Attestation Form
- Payment method information
