Registration Opens for Tire Service Providers on September 4
The Resource Productivity and Recovery Authority will open its Registry to tire collectors, haulers, retreaders and processors on September 4 to accommodate service providers meeting the October 31, 2018 registration deadline in the Tires Regulation.
After September 4, tire service providers can access the Registry online at rpra.ca/registry. At the time of registration, service providers will be required to:
- Provide contact and other business information
- Identify the tire types they collect, transport, retread and/or process
- Collectors will have to identify their collection sites
- Retreaders will have to identify their retreading sites
- Processors will have to identify their processing sites
Service providers will not pay registry fees in 2018.

Transition to Individual Producer Responsibility for Tires
Starting January 1, 2019, the current Used Tires Program operated by Ontario Tire Stewardship will be replaced by a new individual producer responsibility framework for tires overseen by the Resource Productivity and Recovery Authority.
Ontario Tire Stewardship will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the current Used Tires Program until December 31, 2018. Please contact them at info@rethinktires.ca for any operational questions about the current program.
