Stewardship Ontario begins consultations on wind up of Blue Box Program
On April 7 and 8, Stewardship Ontario (SO) is hosting three webinars to consult on the development of its plan to wind up the Blue Box Program. SO must submit a wind-up plan to the Authority for approval no later than June 30, 2020 and the Authority anticipates reviewing, consulting on and approving the plan by December 31, 2020. In August 2019, the Minister of the Environment, Conservation and Parks issued direction to RPRA and SO to begin transitioning the management of Ontario’s Blue Box Program to producers of plastic and other packaging.
