Operating Agreement between the Authority and the Minister of the Environment, Conservation and Parks Amended

The Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks has amended the Operating Agreement between the Authority and the Minister of the Environment, Conservation and Parks.

Key amendments to the agreement:

  • increase ministerial oversight and transparency of RPRA
  • enable industry input into RPRA’s business planning process
  • improve RPRA’s financial transparency
  • further define RPRA’s functions
  • ensure data privacy

Between February 12 and March 29, 2021, the ministry consulted stakeholders on proposed amendments to the Operating Agreement through the Environmental Registry of Ontario. During this 45-day period, the Authority and stakeholders were consulted on the proposed amendments. The Authority shared information about this process on its website and newsletter.

The Authority is supportive of the ministry’s efforts to enhance transparency, accountability, stakeholder engagement, data privacy and cost effectiveness.
