Consultation Extended on Revised Proposal for 2023 RRCEA Program Fees for HSP Category A and B

RPRA is extending its consultation on the revised proposal for 2023 Hazardous and Special Products (HSP) Program fees for Category A (oil filters and non-refillable pressurized containers) and B (refillable pressurized containers, antifreeze, oil containers, paints and coatings, solvents and pesticides) materials under the HSP Regulation issued under the Resource Recovery and Circular Economy Act, 2016 (RRCEA).

Between April 28 and May 19, RPRA is seeking feedback on supplemental revisions to the fee proposal posted in January that affect the fee model for producers of automotive materials only.

The January proposal sought to better balance the fee burden among producers of different materials under the HSP Regulation.

The proposed supplemental revisions were developed in response to feedback received from automotive materials producers.

Feedback, comments and questions about the proposed supplemental revisions can be submitted to consultations@rpra.ca until May 19.

Final fees will be posted before June 1, 2023, along with a consultation report summarizing all feedback related to HSP fees received since fall 2022 when the consultation on 2023 Registry Program Fees was first launched, and how RPRA considered that feedback.

Producers, registrants and other stakeholders will be notified when the final fees have been posted.
