RPRA’s updated registry procedure for Hazardous and Special Products (HSP) is now available on the Environmental Registry of Ontario

The Government of Ontario has published an updated version of RPRA’s registry procedure on the Environmental Registry of Ontario (ERO) for the Hazardous and Special Products (HSP) Regulation under the Resource Recovery and Circular Economy Act, 2016 (RRCEA).

This procedure covers various automotive materials like oil filters, oil containers, and antifreeze, as well as solvents, paints and coatings, pesticides, fertilizers, mercury-containing devices (such as barometers, thermometers, and thermostats), and pressurized containers (both non-refillable and refillable, including propane containers). These materials are part of Ontario’s extended producer responsibility (EPR) regulatory framework.

The procedure, already detailed on the RPRA website and shared with producers for the 2024 reporting season, is used to fulfill audit and verification requirements.
