RPRA has corrected batteries and tires resource recovery and collection requirements previously published to our website on March 5.
Batteries
The 2025 batteries recovery requirements have been corrected to reflect the recent amendments to the Batteries Regulation.
As of January 1, 2025, the amended Batteries Regulation combines recovery requirements for single-use and rechargeable batteries. The combined 2025 batteries recovery requirement is 3,153.56 tonnes.

Tires
The collection target for the 2025 recovery year has been removed to reflect the recent amendments to the Tires Regulation.
As of January 1, 2025, the amended Tires Regulation no longer requires collection requirements and specifies recovery requirements of 65% for all tires and 60% for large tires based on reported supply. The 2025 tires recovery requirements are 130,532 tonnes for all tires and 2,925 tonnes for large tires.
On March 5, RPRA published incorrect collection requirements for recovery years 2021 – 2024. The correct collection requirements are now published on the website.
