RPRA’s Registry is now open for Tires supply and performance reporting

RPRA’s Registry is now open for supply and performance reporting for tires.

Obligated producers, PROs, processors, haulers, and retreaders must submit an annual performance report. Producers are also required to submit an annual supply report and pay the 2025 program fee. All reports are submitted online through RPRA’s Registry.

The deadline for tire supply and performance reporting is May 31, 2025.

Recent amendments to Ontario’s Tires Regulation

The Ontario government has made amendments to producer responsibility regulations under the Resource Recovery and Circular Economy Act, 2016 (RRCEA), including to the Tires Regulation.

The following changes may affect producers, PROs, haulers, processors, and retreaders during the upcoming reporting period:

Producers will now determine if they are exempt from registering and reporting by using a three-year rolling average supply weight rather than using a collection requirement calculation.
Small tires have been newly defined as tires that weigh one kilogram or more but less than five kilograms. Small tires are exempt from being reported as supplied into Ontario.
To streamline reporting for tire haulers, processors and retreaders, the reporting categories for four tire types have been merged to two; large tires (tires weighing more than 700 kg) and tires other than large (tires weighing 700 kg or less).
Tire collectors are no longer required to register and report annually to RPRA. Tire collectors that want to participate in a producer’s tire collection system should contact a PRO.
