RPRA is delaying some audit and verification requirements for hazardous and special products
Will performance audit reports be required this year?
RPRA is delaying the requirement for producers and PROs of hazardous and special products (HSP) to submit a performance audit report.
The decision to not require a performance audit report by July 31, 2025, for HSP is a result of the ongoing consultation on the development of Resource Recovery Performance Audit Procedures.
HSP producers and PROs will be required to submit their first performance audit report in accordance with the finalized procedure. RPRA will communicate directly with producers and PROs about their performance audit requirements later this year.
Producers and PROs are still required to submit their annual performance report by July 31, 2025. Producers and PROs will be notified when the registry opens for reporting.
Will HSP processors be required to submit a Recycling Efficiency Rate verification report this year?
RPRA is delaying the requirement for processors of hazardous and special products (HSP) to submit a Recycling Efficiency Rate (RER) verification report for antifreeze, oil containers, mercury-containing devices, paints and coatings and solvents.
Processors are still required to submit their annual performance report by July 31, 2025. Processors will be notified when the registry opens for reporting.
HSP processors will be required to submit an RER verification report, in accordance with the finalized procedure. RPRA will communicate directly with processors about their RER verification report requirements later this year.
Processors of oil filters, non-refillable pressurized containers and refillable pressurized containers are no longer required to calculate and report on their RER. Learn more.
