List of HSP PROs that represent producers using the municipal-based collection option for 2027 now available

RPRA has posted a list of hazardous and special products (HSP) PROs establishing and operating the municipal-based collection option on behalf of their producer clients in 2027. The list helps municipalities identify which PROs rely on municipal collection sites as part of their collection system.

The HSP Regulation requires producers of automotive materials, non-refillable pressurized containers, solvents and pesticides that intend to use the municipal-based collection option to notify RPRA before the applicable calendar year.

Find the list on the HSP PROs webpage.

Overview of the municipal-based collection option

The municipal-based collection option is one of the  options that producers of some HSP materials can use to meet their public collection system requirements.

To use this option, producers, or PROs on their behalf, must establish and operate the same number of collection sites and events as the municipalities operated two years prior. For example, in 2027, a producer would have to establish and operate the same number of collection sites and events that all municipalities operated in 2025.
