Data quality pivotal to the success of EPR reform

One of the four consultations arising from UK’s EPR reform aims to revolutionize the organization and funding of waste packaging management. It would be almost impossible to accurately calculate the full net cost of recycling without sufficient data, which is why “eco-modulation” is considered to be the most viable mechanism for allocating fees. By proposing a ‘full net cost’ system, reform will see producers pay the entire cost of managing their packaging at end-of-life.  Read more.
