Most people still don’t know what the circular economy is

A recent study commissioned by Hi-Cone, a supplier of plastic-based packaging, suggest that most people don’t really know or understand what the term “circular economy” means. The study surveyed over 5800 adults from the US, Mexico, Spain and the UK and found that only 31% of all respondents had any level of understanding of the circular economy.

Why does this matter? When compared to the level of understanding this same group had of the term “recycling” (81%) and their efforts to recycle, the study suggests that a high level of understanding about the circular economy can drive public support for circular initiatives. Read more.
