4 Start-ups using seaweed to help save the planet
Cascadia Seaweed, a company from Canada is among four start-ups from around the world that are developing solutions to tackle food insecurity and climate change with seaweed. Seaweed effectively absorbs and traps more CO2 than trees, and can extract harmful nitrogen from the ocean. Moreover, seaweed has a high nutritional value, that can be used in health supplements, fertilizers, and agri-foods.
