Targeted recycling education with robotics
Prairie Robotics, a Regina-based company uses cameras, GPS and computers installed on recycling trucks to help identify contamination in recycling bins. Images of each collection are automatically collected and immediately assigned to each household using high-precision GPS. Machine learning automatically identifies top priority contaminants amongst the recycling and compiles households putting wrong items into their blue bins. From there, emails and mail with personalized education resources are automatically sent to residents to improve their recycling rates and reduce the contamination of recycling. Learn more.
