Indigenous brands showcasing sustainability by design
August 9 is International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples. This day is to raise awareness of issues faced by indigenous populations around the world. It is also a day to recognize the achievements and contributions indigenous peoples have made to improve world issues such as environmental protection.
Five indigenous business owners are leading the way by showcasing their fashion and beauty brands that put sustainability into practice. Cheekbone Beauty, Tania Larsson, Urban Native Era, Ginew, and Brass Arrow implement sustainability throughout the supply chain – from design, manufacturing, and even shipping. Their products use locally sourced materials, upcycled resources, and eliminate waste from packaging and shipping. Read about their businesses and how their ingenuity is also raising awareness for their cultures, traditions, and values.
