Two University of Toronto alums co-founded ALT TEX, a Toronto-based startup that aims to commercialize polyester-like material made from processed food waste. Inspired by the concept of circular economy, the two alum have a team of researchers to help break down, extract, and process materials from the food waste to make biodegradable polymers for the sustainable fabric.
