Durham puts recyclables in road repairs

road repairs with road roller

The Region of Durham is running a pilot project to repair a 3.6 kilometre stretch of road with recycled glass and plastic. The road repair will take place in two phases, the first phase involves reconstructing a portion of the road with conventional materials. The second phase will use recycled plastics to repair the rest of the road. The project will assess and evaluate the performance of each phase to determine the success of using recycled materials in road construction. Learn more.
