Participate in RPRA’s proposed 2022 RRCEA program fees consultation

From March 10, 2022, to April 25, 2022, RPRA is consulting on the proposed 2022 RRCEA program fees for producers and revised General Fee-Setting Policy. Producers obligated under Resource Recovery and Circular Economy Act, 2016 (RRCEA) regulations include producers of:

2022 fees for users of the Excess Soil Registry were consulted on and set in November 2021 and therefore will not be included in this consultation.

RRCEA program fees are charges that producers pay to RPRA annually to cover its costs related to building and operating the Registry, and compliance and enforcement activities.

As in previous years, producers obligated under the RRCEA are required to report their supply data and pay the associated fees to RPRA in 2022. This is the first year that Lighting producers are required to report and pay fees to RPRA. More information on reporting requirements can be found on the program pages linked above.

This proposal outlines the proposed 2022 RRCEA program fees and revisions to the General Fee-Setting Policy and gives an overview of RPRA’s Cost Allocation Methodology. The proposed fees are estimates based on the known information at this time.

RPRA is hosting two webinars to walk through the proposal, answer questions and gain feedback from registrants and other interested stakeholders. Sessions are program-specific, however, both sessions will provide an overview of 2022 fees for all RRCEA programs. Follow the links to register for the webinars:

Recordings of the webinars will be posted to RPRA’s website the day after they are held.

Registrants and stakeholders can also submit their feedback by email to consultations@rpra.ca. All feedback must be received by RPRA on or before April 25, 2022.
