Recyclable toothpaste tubes launch in the U.S.

Colgate-Palmolive is rolling out a recyclable toothpaste tube in the U.S. made from High-Density Polyethylene plastic, the same material used in milk and detergent bottles. The launch is part of a bigger movement to share the design of the tube with their competitors to build momentum for the adoption and acceptance of recyclable tubes. They are also working closely with peer companies and material recovery facilities to develop a recyclable tube pilot program to assess the quality of the tube material that is collected for reprocessing.
