Burlington’s Royal Botanical Gardens are accepting Christmas trees for various environmental projects. The program places a maximum of 2,000 trees strategically in critical zones for stream restoration. The trees, once placed, collect sediment, aiding in riverbank formation and stabilization. Over time, these trees create essential habitats for various wildlife and contribute to improved water quality. Conservation Halton also hosts a Christmas Tree drop-off day to support river erosion prevention and wildlife habitat creation. Read more about upcycling Christmas trees.
