Women-led Egyptian fashion brand Up-Fuse upcycles plastic waste and car tires into apparel
Up-Fuse, a Cairo-based social enterprise founded in 2013, is repurposing plastic waste and tires into high-quality apparel and accessories. Since its inception, Up-Fuse has upcycled over 2 million plastic bags, 800,000 plastic bottles, and 800 car tires. The brand also focuses on empowering underprivileged refugees and women through vocational training programs. Led by Lama El khawanky, Zahra Yehia, and Malak Rasha Tag, Up-Fuse’s products have gained popularity globally and have been recognized with awards, including the UN Environmental award, for their environmental and social impact.
