You can reuse, donate or recycle your solar eclipse glasses now that the eclipse is over

After the 2024 total solar eclipse, people are wondering what to do with their eclipse glasses. The American Astronomical Society says the glasses are good until 2044 if they’re in good condition. You can keep them for the next eclipse or donate them to organizations like Astronomers Without Borders, which recycles them for future use in underserved communities. Another option is to donate them to Eclipse Glasses USA for redistribution to children in countries with upcoming eclipses. If you prefer not to donate, you can recycle the cardboard and lenses separately. Read more about what you can do with your solar eclipse glasses.
